About
After many years as an active drug addict and alcoholic, on May 11, 1991 Mothers Day weekend John Kinder was at a Spiritual Retreat for drug addicts and alcoholics, the Lord opened a door and allowed him to escape from the bondage of sin and addiction, as he accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. As the result of God’s grace and mercy, his life today is far removed from that place of bondage. His terrible past has become his most valuable resource allowing him to share and work with others in addiction and their families. Over the past 14 years, John has been blessed to sing Southern Gospel music and share his experience, strength and hope with thousands of people throughout the eastern United States. John is currently pastor of Charity Baptist Church in Lowgap, NC.
John's wife Nancy is a Born Again Child of God. Raised in a small community by very loving parents. Although they didn’t attend church regularly, there was always a lot of love in the house. Nancy was one on nine children but lost one sister when she was four years old. her Daddy was a tobacco farmer and in later years became a custodian at our local school. Her daddy taught her love and compassion. Her Mother was a housewife who did not believe in fighting among her children. They were poor but always had plenty. As long as she can remember there was music in the house. When all the children were together they would end up around the piano singing.

Influences
Each member of the group brings a different element of influence to the table. John brings a country music sound from his experience prior to being saved and singing for the Lord. Nancy comes from a large singing family who gathered around the piano at her parents’ house every Sunday evening and sang the old hymns. Scott’s musical influences are primarily those of the Bluegrass music of the foot hills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. This variety gives The Kinders a wide range and unique style.

The Kinders are known for tight harmonies and anointed singing. In addition to their music they share what the Lord has done in their lives and ministry.
