About The Guise
We are 4 talented musician/singer/song-writers, all going through mid-life crisis, and all harboring ambitions to become big music stars someday. We are just waiting for a major recording label to "discover" us during one of our performances! Until then, our true identities must never be revealed, lest our day to day existence as educator, administrator, proprietor becomes compromised. Can you keep the secret?
Biography:
To define the music of THE GUISE in a few brief sentences is not an easy thing to do. Like most bands, our sound has been shaped from many various musical influences over the years. The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Eagles, and, of course, the Ozark Mountain Dare Devils, to name just a few, are favorites of ours. We like to rock, but we’re not just an acoustic rock band. We do some country tunes, some folk, and now and then even some Pink Floyd. We enjoy covering songs and adding our own elements to them, just to drive you crazy. And you can be sure that all our songs, whether covers or originals, will have those tight vocal harmonies you’ve come to expect in our performances.
Over the past 6 plus years we have performed at many places in and around Springfield including: Ophelia's, Lindberg's, St. Michael's, Tommy Leo's, Rasta Grill, Cartoons, Trolleys, Arris’s Pizza, Ebbett’s Field, Galloway Station, Remington’s, The Shrine Mosque, Adobe’s Café, the House Concert Series at Marshfield’s Jubilee Theatre and the Phelps Helps 2006 Summer Concert Series. And we’ve done our fair share of private parties, political fund-raisers, and weddings as well. Check the newspaper for upcoming performances!
We are currently working on our original songs and have been hard at it laying them down in the recording studio. We plan to have our latest CD out sometime in early 2008. So look for it online or in your local music store!
