Born and raised in the outlying small towns of Oklahoma, The Nefarious Double Clutchers are truly at home with their music. They are songwriters at heart and performers by choice, peddling their own brand of “real music for particular people” to venues and audiences across the country. With an instrument list that would make a ten-piece bluegrass band blush, the Double Clutchers never fail to amuse.

The group came together after Oklahoma City-based singer/songwriters Bryon White and Joel Mosman met up with Buffalo Rogers, an established performer in his own band Buffalofitz. After adding Rogers’ musicianship and songwriting talents to their mix, the Double Clutchers had a firm foundation that would open the doors to a plethora of instrumental and vocal combinations. Writing and recording came naturally to the trio, and they began performing across the state, switching up instruments and styles of music as easily as changing hats. Since then, White and Mosman have truly become front-men in their own right, a pair of characters whose unforgettable stage presence is quickly becoming a staple of Oklahoma City nightlife. The Nefarious Double Clutchers have become the down-home equivalent of a super group. The pair continues to play with Buffalo Rogers as a featured special guest, as well as other guest performers to create a 4-5 piece band with a bigger than life sound and broad instrumentation. Their exploits have been documented in the University of Oklahoma’s OU Daily campus newspaper as well as being featured performers on OK43’s Rise and Shine Oklahoma morning news television program.

For a modern twist on a traditional sound, the Double Clutchers will always keep you on the edge of your seat. Their original music is brimming with bits of social commentary and lyrics with a keen ear on the state of the world around us. From catchy and upbeat melodies to dirge-like ballads and stories, the Nefarious Double Clutchers have a little something for every member of their audience to get excited about. Using their vocal ability, multi-instrumentation, and original music, the Nefarious Double Clutchers have created their own particular brand of music combining red dirt, blue grass, zydeco, folk, and traditional sounds. Their “red grass” sound will have you stomping your feet and clapping along before you know it.
