I do stand up comedy with a Bipolar / Mental health twist to it. I am working to fight the stigma of mental illness as well as show that people with mental illness have a sense of humor. Audiences love to laugh at the world of psychiatrists, therapists, medications and insurance woes, plus the day to day trials of living with a mental illness.
very funny, very clean, love that she sees the humor in every day events and can laugh and joke about her illness and the medical community.
Hilarious! The audience loved her deadpan humor. Very clever and clean, would recommend her for any audience. Sue is also great to work with and very easy to get along with.

The humorous side of maneuvering through the world of psychiatrists, therapists. medications, stigma and day to day life with a mental illness. I like to bring a "taboo"subject out in the open and get people comfortable laughing about their relatives, their spouses, or even themselves. There is a lot to laugh about in our mental health care system. The experience for me is one of joy to be able to get people to loosen up about a serious subject and just have fun with it!
I was born and raised in Washington DC and moved to Bennington Vermont 25 years ago.I found the small town atmosphere a perfect place to raise my five kids. I started doing Stand Up when my kids grew up and left home because it was the first time I could get a word in edgewise!
As a person with Bipolar Disorder, I find that there is much humor in the world of psychiatrists, therapists, medication, psych units and the day to day mood swings. Even "regular" audiences relate to the humorous side of mental illness.
I have played at mental health conferences in Chicago, New York and Ontario, CA as well as small cafes in Vermont and Massachusetts. I have a large fundraiser show scheduled in Vermont in June and a club set in Boston in July.
Stand Up for Mental Health, a group from Canada, lead by David Granrier, that teaches Stand Up Comedy to people with mental illness has been a strong influence in my career.
