I am a Joan Rivers Impersonator and do Joan Rivers on the red carpet for corporate and other events. I also do a dead on Sharon Osbourne look and sound alike. I am a Comedian, Impressionist, Singer. I have appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, a finalist on Thirty Seconds To Fame and in April of 2012 I impersonated Sharon Osbourne on America's Got Talent and got 3 "yes's" from the judges. I have done numerous radio voice overs. I have a comedy act in which I impersonate Joan Rivers, Fran Drescher, Carol Channing, Whoopi Goldberg, George Burns & Gracie Allen, Katharine Hepburn, Sharon Osbourne, Barbra Streisand, Mary Tyler Moore, Edith Bunker, Dr. Ruth, Rita Rudner, and more.
About
I have different venues and enjoy them all. I started out as a singer but the popularity of my impressions became so "in demand" that I capitalized on doing comedy and impressions on stage. I have done radio voice overs, television shows and commercials, both national and regional.
I enjoy doing Meet and Greets as Joan Rivers on the red carpet, joking with guests as they arrive to start out every event with laughter and high energy. "Who are you wearing?" "Can We Talk?" I always keep current with the latest on Joan Rivers and can 'channel' her. I have been impersonating Joan Rivers professionally since May of 1986.
I also have a very entertaining, fast paced 45 minute comedy act where I do impressions of Joan Rivers, Fran Drescher, Katharine Hepburn, Whoopi Goldberg, Barbra Streisand, Sharon Osbourne, Mary Tyler Moore, Carol Channing, Dr. Ruth, Edith Bunker, Roseanne Roseannadanna and many more depending on my audience. I change wigs, jackets, boas, jewelry, quickly on stage (I have a six foot table for my props) which enhances my characters, with musical themes playing while I am changing, to create the mood. Locally in Florida I use the house sound system in state of the art theaters, or in smaller venues I can supply the sound. I always have a sound technician with me who knows my cues for the comedy act and helps to set up the show. Setting up my props and sound system takes time. I generally like to be at a show 2 hours before showtime when possible.
I have honed my comedy skills in comedy clubs all around the country and many years on stage, in Florida. I started acting and singing in plays since my earliest school years.
I won the Cloney Award twice in Las Vegas for "Best Female Celebrity Impressionist" in both 2003 and 2004, The Sybil Award in 2004 and 2005 at the impersonators convention in Orlando, Fl... and won the trophy for "Funniest Female" at the impersonators convention in Orlando on August 20, 2011. I am happy to add that I have just won the "Bea Fogelman Award of Excellence" presented to me on September 8, 2012. This is the top award in The Tribute Artist Industry. It was presented to me at the Sunburst Convention of Impersonators & Tribute Artists in Orlando. I am thrilled and honored to have received this prestigious award.
I am also a professional lyricist and write musical lyrics and poetry for any occasion, for many years now.
Influences
Barbra Streisand and Joan Rivers have influenced me as far as performing; but I have always had an innate talent for imitating voices that I found interesting. This goes back to my childhood days in school. Besides doing comedic impressions, I have always loved to sing and have many influences including Barbra Streisand and The Beatles. I can sing anything from jazz to rock and roll to opera to country. Love it all.
What to Expect
You can expect a "dead on" Joan Rivers for a "meet and greet" on the Red Carpet, if you wish to have that venue. Joan will welcome and joke with the guests and ask: "Who are you wearing?" I constantly hear how amazed they are at how much I sound just like her.
If you are throwing a surprise birthday party, anniversary, or other event, just give me all the inside details on your honoree and I will create clever, custom material that will make the night memorable and have your honoree feeling very special. I am a lyricist and have a way with words.
When I perform a comedy/impressions show, the audience can expect a multitude of characters; mostly famous, but a couple of my originals. My impressions are very accurate and funny, with props and wigs to really create the look...and theme music to create the mood of each character before I begin. I can impersonate quite an assortment of stars, from Joan Rivers, to Fran Drescher, Mary Tyler Moore, Edith Bunker, Carol Channing, Sharon Osbourne, Dr. Ruth, Barbara Streisand and many more.
Stage/Setup Requirements:
When doing a show, I require a stage, preferably.
Additional Notes:
I can provide my own sound system for my show when needed at certain venues. I have a manager who helps me set up, runs my sound system and knows my cues. I can also provide my own six foot table for my props.
My wardrobe for Joan Rivers "meet and greets" is superb, with the finest quality of clothing and jewelry to really give an elegant, official, sophisticated and professional look.
Set/Song/Sequence List:
If it's a Joan Rivers meet and greet on the Red Carpet, that would be for an hour or so.
If I am performing a comedy show....It would be Joan Rivers, Fran Drescher and I continue down the line doing sketches of multiple characters, pacing it very well, usually ending with Barbra Streisand. I can do a good 45 minute show if requested; longer or shorter timewise depending on the client's needs.
