Biography:

Drawing on a background of over 30 years as a magic entertainer, Scott Wells has the credentials to perform top quality magic for all business and social gatherings. Conveniently located in the Houston, Texas area, Scott performs throughout Houston and the world. His corporate performances take him from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico to Amelia Island, FL to Aberdeen, Scotland and everywhere in between. His client list includes corporate giants like Merrill Lynch, Ford Motor Company, and Baker Hughes.

As a trade show magician, he was instrumental in helping a client win a Lantern Award of Excellence in the Total Marketing Communications for their participation in the 2008 Offshore Technology Conference.

He was one of the House Magicians at Houston's prestigious Magic Island for many years. Scott has performed publicly at such notable locations as the Magic Castle in Hollywood, Monday Night Magic off-Broadway in New York City and aboard cruise ships in the Caribbean.

Recognized by his peers for his expertise in the art of magic, Scott received the coveted “Magician of the Year – 2002” award at the annual banquet of the Society of American Magicians (S.A.M.) in Houston. Competition for this annual award is always difficult as many qualified magicians vie for this honor.

Scott is recognized as a mentor and lecturer to other magicians and has also won numerous awards for his published articles and creative ideas. He was a contributing editor to MAGIC Magazine (which is based in Las Vegas, NV) every month for nearly a decade.

Scott is also an Associate of the Inner Magic Circle (A.I.M.C.). The Magic Circle, a professional society for magicians located in London, England, acknowledges the best magicians in the world with honorary degrees in recognition of their skill level and entertainment value. Scott’s title of A.I.M.C. is a prestigious distinction that is held by less than 1,500 magicians worldwide.

Scott is a charter member of The Magic Circle and the S.A.M. and a past Board Member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians.

Scott regularly performs at restaurants where he perfects his sleight-of-hand skills. He has worked for over 20 years as House Magician at restaurants in Omaha, NE, Midland, Dallas and Houston, TX. His hundreds of performances each year keep his skills sharp and his human relations skills refined.

Before practicing magic as a full time professional, Scott spent 30 years in the energy business. He began as a roustabout in the oilfields of southern Illinois and moved into the boardrooms of major companies as Manager, Director, and then Vice President of natural gas. He has worked in natural gas marketing, supply acquisition, long term sales, trading financial futures, contract negotiations, and administration for Texaco, Northern Natural Gas Company, Panhandle Trading Company (Duke Energy), Louisville Gas & Electric, and Oxy. He has a Bachelor’s of Science from Southern Illinois University and did his graduate work on a Masters of Business Administration at the University of Tulsa.
