Sara is a singer-songwriter, originally from Chicago, Illinois. Though she grew up in a family of professional musicians, the guitar she received as a gift in 2000 was the catalyst for her songwriting career. She began to compose lyrics and music which express her insight, depth, and unique perspective on life. Influenced by songwriters like John Prine, Elvis Costello, Gillian Welch, and Neil Young, Sara’s own songs express her own, personal journey through her music. Sara has performed in Long Beach, CA at venues such as Liquid Lounge, DiPiazza’s, and the Pike. She has also performed at the Grotto’s in Aspen, Co. and Berkeley’s Freight and Salvage. While Ms. Rodenburg’s style is uniquely her own, comparisons range from Iris DeMent and Judy Collins, Liz Phair and Jenny Lewis (of Rilo Kiley) . Currently, Sara can be found touring the Bay Area playing acoustic folk-rock with melodic soul in clubs and coffeehouses, as well as at private events.
