Christmas PartySam was accessible via email or phone for all planning and plan changes. He was on time, knowledgeable, played great music, was fairly priced and a big hit at our annual Christmas party. He even entertained a couple of kids after the party for a few minutes. We would definitely consider Sam for future engagements!

About

One of Sam’s most prized accomplishments is recently placing 3rd in the National Philips Jazz Piano Competition. He got to fly out to Pensacola Florida and play with phenomenal musicians and compete against incredibly talented individuals.

Sam is able to boast of that largely due to his long career in music. He has been performing and composing music for over 15 years. Sam started his career off early doing performances at age 6, then started gigging around the age of 10. In high school Sam placed 1st and 2nd in State 3 years in a row for jazz piano.

Once Sam got to college his career took another leap forward. Sam participated in Marching Band, the top Big Band and top Small Group, started playing drums in jazz settings, gaining a notable reputation in the area.

In his sophomore year of college Sam was offered a position at Eagle Mountain International Church. He left his work as a headwaiter at Pappadeaux and began playing at EMIC where he has been playing on a weekly basis for well over a year. EMIC broadcast their services online and has a wide audience of viewers around the world.

Once in his junior year of college, Sam began expressing a great interest in Visual Media Composition. Within in weeks of deciding to pursue a career in that, Sam was writing for films and video games while also maintaining fabulous grades and a steady flow of gigs. A film he wrote music for was recently feature on CBS News, labeling the director as the future Steven Spielberg.

In his career Sam has played for: US Congressman Ralph Hall, U.S Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson, Texas Senator Bob Duell, World Class Saxophonist Bob Mintzer, Jeff Coffin (Saxophonist for the Dave Matthews Band), members of Maynard Ferguson’s touring band, Las Vegas touring singer Steve Lippia, and many other famous musicians in the area.

Sam is expected to graduate May 2013 and plans on attending college somewhere in Miami, California, or New York.
