Ruya for My Hubby's Family Birthday Celebration!
This year, at the last minute, I decided I really wanted to add something totally unpredictable and unique to surprise my husband during his family get-together & birthday celebration which was already planned for a local Dallas restaurant.
Hmmm. I thought: Belly Dancers!!I I contacted Ruya and the planning began.
Unfortunately, due to lack of space inside the restaurant where the Birthday party was going to be held, the dancers would not be allowed to perform inside. The manager, who was familiar with Ruya, really wanted to "work with us", so he recommended an open space outside of the restaurant with plenty of room. And so it was.
On the big day, we finished our lunch (15 of us) and as the plan went, we were "supposedly" headed outside to take family pictures (or so my husband thought.) The weather was beautiful!
As planned and coordinated, the beautiful ladies of Ruya were there waiting on the side of the building, smiling in the sunshine fully prepared with music and dressed in the most beautiful golden costumes ever!! I still refer to them as two Golden Butterflies :-)
First, Ruya performed (which was amazing). Then, they got my husband up dancing along with them. He loved it! They also gave belly dancing lessons to the group and got most of the family up and participating. We had a blast. The younger kids and teenagers loved it!! People driving by were honking, waving or pulling into the parking lot to watch us!
The family constantly talks about how much fun we had that day.
It was a truly a unique experience the family will always remember!

We hired Ruya to perform at a company picnic. To be honest, some of the staff was hesitant about having bellydance, but our theme was Arabian Nights so what else would we have? They were professional and true artists. Their performance captivated us and we were very pleased. My whole viewpoint of bellydance has changed. They even got our HR lady up and it was the greatest!

Ruya provides quality bellydance entertainment for all to enjoy. We specialize in a high energy production, but can tone it down to fit your event setting.
If your goal is to provide a show for your guests to sit back and watch- we can do that. If your goal is to get the party started and hype up the crowd and provide audience interaction- we can do that.

Stage/Setup Requirements:
Lighting would be nice because our costumes sparkle in good lighting, but it's ok if you don't have professional lights- just let us know what you do have
Sounds system to play the music- either cd player or ipod dock- let us know what is available
Stage area or dance floor space
We need dimensions of the dance space- floor size and ceiling height- we have a wide variety of dance props and need to be able to best decide what fits in your space
