About
A working professional for over 30 years, R.J. started as a street performer in the 1970’s. His skills and focus on sleight-of-hand helped him win the International Beaux Arts Society Award for Magic Excellence for 1979 and 1980.
Seen street performing in Schubert Alley, R.J. was hired for the Broadway show ‘BARNUM’ where he did magic, sang, danced, and juggled from 1980-1982. As a member of the cast he appeared at the KENNEDY CENTER HONORS AWARDS in the nationally aired television show.
He was invited to perform at the White House in 1982 as part of the “EASTER AT THE WHITE HOUSE” festivities before President Reagan.
He went on to perform in Atlantic City as the comedy act in the revue show, “ROGER MINAMI’S HEATWAVE” (1983-1985).
He went on to run programs at TROPICANA, SHOWBOAT, TRUMP TAJ MAHAL CASINO HOTEL, and TRUMP’S CASTLE CASINO HOTEL from 1985-1997.
At many events for those casinos he took the role of Masters Of Ceremonies for Casino events, ran Million Dollar contests, and even introduced performers for in-house talent shows.
In 1997, He was hired for the Broadway Company of “BUSKER ALLEY”, which starred Tommy Tune. His recent television appearances include LAW AND ORDER. the TODAY show and Season 3 of “THE APPRENTICE”.
His quick wit and personality has helped the success of many events for companies that include: COCA COLA; NOVARTIS PHARMACEUTICALS, HOFFMAN-LA ROCHE PHARMACEUTICALS, and many others.
