Why hire Redding International Folk Dancers?
Redding Folk Dancers are a group of community members who enjoy dancing and sometimes performing dances from around the world.
We can provide 3-5 couples performing up to 25 minutes of dance (straight through performance with a bit of announcing) in 4 different categories:
1. German - Great any time, but especially popular in September and October. Book early for a Saturday!
2. Scandinavian - A combination of Norwegian, Swedish and Finnish
3. International - A potpourri of dances, mainly from Western Europe -
4. Vintage: Waltzes, Round Dances, Tangos, Polkas, Ragtime
We can also attend your event, performing intermittently, and thus add atmosphere to the entire evening.
What to Expect
Typical Gig Duration: 15 - 30 minutes
This is a chance to enjoy the music, rhythms and dances of countries from around the world. Perhaps you have a heritage event and need something from a specific area? Give me a call and we'll try to accommodate you. We can also teach simple, audience participation dances. Get everyone up and dancing! You'll be glad you did!
Stage/Setup Requirements:
A space to dance safely in 12' x12' MINIMUM and 16' X 16' is better
Electricity for sound system
If you don't have a table for our set up, please let us know.
Additional Notes:
Whatever your sound system situation, we will make it work. While we can use sound systems that are in place wherever we are dancing, we do have a full system available which we can bring and set up.
