Puppies and Reptiles for Parties

We have been doing children's parties for almost 25 years and raising and breeding our babies for for 35 years. We started out with it being just my wife and I and it grew to using our two daughters to employing 7 people as of now.

All our parties are totally hands on and while we do provide knowledge at our parties our main concern is entertainment. We teach kids to love animals and also to respect them. With puppies they go in a pen and sit down on the ground to play with them. With reptiles we are right as they hold and touch each one (assuming they want to),

There are reptiles on all continents of the world, except the North and South Pole. We bring specimens from many different areas. It is fun to watch the kids enjoy themselves with my babies. it is funny when the kids can hold and enjoy a sweet animal and mom or dad are afraid to. We try to bring them in on it too. I love the variety of our cold blooded sweeties. Although, not all our animals are reptiles. Turtles are not, but Tortoise's are. Frogs and toads are, of course, amphibians and our tarantula's are arachnids. But they are all fun. I remember a reptile party I did and a little girl who told me I was so brave to handle all the animals. I told her "no, that she was the brave one". She handled every animal I had and was quite obviously scared almost all the time. I told her I loved my babies and that it was my pleasure to handle them. I have lots of stories to tell.

The puppy parties are different. We breed all the babies with the rare exception of when I buy an outside male to strengthen my bloodlines. We have bred for many generations and have some of the finest personalities on the planet. We currently have great great great grandchildren on the ground from my first Shih Tzu. Her name was Poe ('I got Poe-zazz' was her registered name). Poe would wait at the door for my kids to come home from elementary school. My youngest daughter is now 30 years of age. Time does fly. Influences

My wife and I went from training dogs to breeding and boarding. A friend who did reptile parties got us started entertaining. It all just came from our love of animals of all kinds.

What to Expect

Typical Gig Duration: 45 - 90 minutes

We get two basic reponsed at our parties. Our puppy parties are unusually quiet. Almost intense concentration.
Our reptile party responses and polar opposite. A quiet reptile party is a failure. Fortunately that rarely happens. I remember one party that the father was trying to quiet the kids down. He was, sort of, a wet blanket. He told the kids not to yell so much as they would hurt the big snakes ears. I told that could happen, IF snakes had ears. Things went well after that.

Additional Notes:
For reptile parties I need a table, shade and kids. For puppy parties I need a 10x10' clean area, preferably on grass, for us to put our plastic tarp and puppy pen down. And, of course, shade and kids.

Set/Song/Sequence List:
We are pretty easy. For puppies I need shade and a clean dry area to set up.
For reptiles I need a table and shade.
