About

Lisa is a former elementary and preschool education teacher with most of her experience being at the preschool level. After getting involved with a puppet team with her family she became convinced that puppets can reach children in ways that humans cannot. However, not being able to take the team to school with her every day she decided to learn ventriloquism. Through the Maher Ventriloquism course and the Ventriloquists in Training program offered through One Way Street, Lisa has been improving her skills. Competition is a requirement in the Ventriloquists in Training program and Lisa has earned 3 gold awards thus far. Lisa was also chosen to be part of the 2008 Ventriloquist Dream Team along with 4 other ventriloquists to work for one week on a show which was performed in front of the 800+ attendees at the International Festival of Christian Puppeteers and Ventriloquists in Bourbonnais Illinois. She uses ventriloquism as the main part of her shows but also includes magic tricks, stories and songs to educate, entertain and encourage the children at her shows. In May 2008 Lisa decided to "retire" from teaching in order to focus on her performance business. Lisa has entertained over 3,800 children in Iowa and Nebraska over the past 3 years. She recently added Birthday Parties to the list of programs offered by Pockets Full of Fun and has provided the 'Best Party Ever' to many families already! Lisa and her friends - Lily, Shiloh, Carmel, Jemimah, Theo, Achan and Gideon the Great - are eager to help you with your children's entertainment needs!

What to Expect

Typical Gig Duration: 20 - 120 minutes

Pockets Full of Fun is a high energy program which includes ventriloquism, magic tricks, stories, songs and LOTS of audience participation. The focus of a Pockets Full of Fun program is to ENTERTAIN, EDUCATE and ENCOURAGE the children present. All children at the programs will receive a small prize which will help them remember what they learned. Craft and magic classes are also available.

Stage/Setup Requirements:
performance area of 6' by 10', access to an electrical outlet

Additional Notes:
I bring my own sound equipment. I carry performer liability insurance.
