Overview

We offer high-calibre, exciting entertainment in the form of solo, duo or ensemble performances featuring classical singers. Our repertoire ranges from musical theatre, to cabaret to opera. Costumes are an important part of the performance and we appear in period-inspired costume or formal gowns and tuxes. We can be interactive, according to the client's needs, i.e., serenading your guests, and singing to them and interacting "in character". We also offer more traditional concert programs (voice and piano) of beautiful melodies from musicals, art song and opera.

Opera Bravissima

Opera Bravissima is the brainchild of Melissa Howell, lyric soprano, and Donna Wong-Juliani, executive director, together with the cream of Vancouver's operatic talent. Melissa was trained at the University of British Columbia and at McGill University, where she earned her Master's Degree in Music. She has appeared with many local companies, including Opera Breve, Opera Appassionata, and the Opera Project, where she last appeared as Pamina in the Magic Flute. Donna is a seasoned artistic producer and was a co-founder of both Savage God and Opera Breve.

Opera Bravissima offers top-notch, classicaly-trained singers for corporate events, in the form of concerts, operatic scenes and brief performances. Opera, operetta, cross-over or "popera", art song, cabaret and musical theatre are all part of the Opera Bravissima experience. Costuming is also a very important part of the entertainment offered to our clients. Past clients include the Italian Cultural Centre, the Vancouver Club, Hycroft-University Women's Club, as well as many private functions. Opera Bravissima has also created educational programming for an "Opera 101" outreach program and for General Brock Elementary, where singers gave an educational gala performance to celebrate Mozart's 250th birthday. We are happy to customize our program to suit the client's budget and event theme and specialize in English, German, Italian and French repertoire.
