About
My name is Marcel Lanoux, and I am the DJ, Emcee, and Owner of Nightshift Sounds, the premiere Wedding & Event DJ Service on the Gulf Coast.
It's difficult for me to think of myself as "just a DJ", because what I do involves so much more than that. I am your Master of Ceremonies, event planner/coordinator/director, music editor and programmer, sound technician, listener, creator, and in many cases, stress-reliever!
So... why is Nightshift Sounds the right choice for your event?
EXPERIENCE
I have been a professional DJ and Master of Ceremonies since 2004. During this time, I have participated in literally hundreds of wedding receptions and ceremonies, corporate functions, Mardi Gras balls, and all types of parties and special occasions.
Additionally, I have been a professional musician for more than twenty years and have performed with many well-respected groups including Isis, Voodoo Funk & Soul, Category 5, and Soul Vaxxination. I have also worked with such noted entertainers as Harry Connick, Jr., Irma Thomas, Rockin' Dopsie, Jr., Branford Marsalis, Dennis Quaid, and Grammy Award-winning composer Bill Conti. I even performed for President Ronald Reagan – twice!
Bottom line: I know music and entertainment!
PERSONAL SERVICE
Since Nightshift Sounds is an owner-operated DJ Service, I have a vested interest in every event that I am a part of. Most importantly, you are not forced to choose from a handful of DJ’s who are either inexperienced or unmotivated. You get the best of me!
I am extremely particular about the services that I provide, and I strive to make every event an absolutely superb experience from beginning to end. Just take a look at the testimonials from some of my past clients, and you’ll realize that you are not “just another gig” to me.
And, because every wedding and event is different, I will meet with you personally to understand your style, ideas, and expectations. My goal is to bring your ideas to life in an event that is fun, memorable, and most of all, unique to you!

My music library contains more than 25,000 (legal) titles encompassing nearly every musical genre from the 1940’s through today. And, it is contantly growing and being updated!
My equipment, simply put, is some of the best that money can buy. I use state-of-the-art professional audio, lighting, and auxiliary equipment by some of the most trusted brands in the industry. It is meticulously maintained to ensure reliability. I also carry multiple backup systems, so in the rare case of a technical difficulty, you can rest assured that your event will keep going without interruption.

My philosophy is to always do things the right way. That’s why Nightshift Sounds is a fully insured and licensed business. I am a member of the Mississippi Wedding & Event Association, Bliss Wedding Caf, and the American Disc Jockey Association.

I have spent nearly thirty years in music and entertainment, and my passion, motivation, and enthusiasm is still as strong today as it has ever been. That’s essential! You'll never find me just sitting there pushing buttons. I am always moving to the music and engaging the crowd. I’ll probably have as much fun at your event as you will! For me, being a DJ is not just some hobby - it's what I know and what I truly love to do!
