5 Seasons Magic Dinner
Magic Dinner Event!
This was the first of its kind. 5 Seasons North sent out flyers to announce a special evening of magic at the Old Milton facility. Magic act plus a 5 course meal. Each course was paired with an alcoholic beverage that was chosen so that it would bring out the special flavor of the food that it was paired with.
Now for the food. Very, very well presented, very tasty...there were a few drinks I didn't really care for like the "Espresso Milk Stout and Irish Cream" combo....way too Stouty for me. But others loved it, so this is totally a personal preference. Course 3, consisted of a "Rabbit in a Hat", which was a beer braised rabbit in puff pastry. Lovely dish, meat was tender and shredded. Side dish was "magical mushroom marshmallow"..which I have yet to figure out if it was a marshmallow with mushroom flavoring or a mushroom with marshmallow flavoring! The servers kept the dishes moving and kept the dirty dishes cleared away quickly and efficiently. I think they were definitely there to make this evening a success, so give them a definite thumbs up.
Okay, drinks and food were finally arriving, socializing was commencing, all is well. Magician introduces himself and begins doing tricks...rope trick, card tricks, mind reading, shell game. He is a hit! Very personable, quick of hand and is working the crowd.

Large gathering of friends and family, as well as small children ranging from 3 to 15. Merritt did a fantastic job of entertaining and interacting with the younger group at first, including letting some of the kids even try to duplicate his ring & rope tricks. After he did a few tricks for a group of about 25 kids and adults, he walked around doing some amazing tricks for smaller groups of 3-5 people and blew us away! Very professional, but also very personable and down to earth. I've never been to a party that had a casual performer just mingling through the crowd, but he did an AMAZING job entertaining everyone there.
