Manea Polynesia: Recognizing the beauty and passion of the Polynesian culture, we have dedicated our efforts to reproducing traditional and modern dances with our own unique dedication and professionalism. We are determined to keep the Polynesian spirit alive, even in the landlocked state of Colorado, expanding our troupe to include a host of dancers who seek to express their true Island passion.

As we continue to integrate more unique performers, our halau evolves to express our traditional yet personal interpretation of these dances. Not only do we enjoy offering great entertainment and custom performances, but we enjoy linking with our surrounding communities to express a passion for Island dance.

We feature musicians and dancers with vast experience, having performed throughout the United States, Hawaii, Samoa, and New Zealand with their uniquely suited passionate blend of talent and dedication. Our dancers are classically trained in traditional Polynesian styles and then redirected by our founder, Simone, into contemporary interpretations of these culturally unique dances. Through lively ukulele, soulful guitar, and exciting drum beats, we interact with our guests both on an auditory/visual level, but on a personal level, regularly offering brief on-stage lessons for our guests.

From fire performances to traditional Hawaiian chants, we strive to combine the most exciting and memorable of Polynesian movements in our reverence of this transcendent culture.

What to Expect

Typical Gig Duration: 30 - 90 minutes

Our shows include energetic drum beats, traditional Polynesian songs, and swiftly flowing visual effects. Our costumes are bold, bright, and rapidly spun and rocked to melodious tunes and rhythms. Our audience members enjoy the lively banter of our band during costume changes, memorable song choices, and the potential to participate in our shows.

One of the most frequently requested offerings, our audience participation enables brave souls to get up on stage and learn our craft in brief and entertaining segments.

We feature a unique fire performance during our shows featuring the New Zealand fire poi. This spectacle is bright and exciting with a high energy drum beat pushing our dancers through choreographed rhythms.

If you have ever visited the islands then you will probably recognize our musical interludes, as we extract both popular and obscure songs from the vast library of Polynesian songs.

Additional Notes:
We offer our own professional equipment, including speakers, sound board, cables, microphones, and instruments. We also feature unique stage lighting and accessories.

We only ask that covered areas be provided in case of inclement (or hot) weather.

Our fire performance can generally be performed indoors or outdoors; however, we reccomend that this is done in the dark or at night for the full effect.
