Macro Balloons

I started my wayward path in balloon twisting early in 2007 just doing birthday parties and very traditional dog, swords, etc. Then in 2008 I traveled to Europe for a juggling festival and discovered a whole new world of balloon sculpting, learning the basic unit that I use in my sculptures today. Over the years I've honed my skills and created many sculptures and outfits for fundraisers and street fairs. Whenever I hang one my balloon extravaganzas up at an event, I hear a non-stop barrage of questions asking "Who made this?" "I've never seen anything like this!" "Why isn't this in an art gallery?"
The sculptures can be anywhere between a foot or two wide in diameter to close to 15 feet (I'd be happy to attempt something bigger assuming you have the space for it). The shape and color scheme is completely up to you although I generally charge more for more difficult designs. For instance colorful fireworks for the fourth of July would come a bit cheaper than a solid white Abe Lincoln. The sculptures last for a couple of months usually and all the materials are listed as bio-degradable. I've also recently started making several costume pieces out of balloons as well and put together a small balloon fashion line for a fundraiser last February. Please note, do not ask me to make you a costume if you are allergic to latex, it won't be pretty. All my sculptures can be hung or left free standing, but sadly they do not work with helium as it escapes far to quickly.
A bit about myself. I'm a graduate from Vassar College with a degree in Theater and Physics. After college I headed to California to eek out a career in fire performance and circus arts. While there I made connections balloon twisting, and face painting. I also began working with a humanitarian circus called the Dreamtime Circus and just came back from a three month circus tour through Peru performing for orphanages and shelters all over the country. I've also been to India, Europe, Canada, Australia performing, teaching, and learning.
