RANGER JACK's Music & Puppet Show
Overview
The Ranger Jack Show is a super fun "interactive" music & puppet experience! Ranger Jack is a one man band and puppeteer performing now in So. Cal. for birthdays, schools, libraries, and special events. Engaging his audience with a fun and educational performance of children's songs on piano and guitar, Ranger Jack greatly involves the children as they interact and sing along. Then his hilarious plush animal puppets simply steal the show! Ranger Jack’s preschool, K-6, and family programs are highly interactive, fun and educational. Many themes and different programs for any age (1-12). Or a family show! And ask about an all music pre-show, roaming animal puppets, or a combo.

January 17, 2014Phenomenal and fun! Everyone really enjoyed the show!
Ranger Jack was a pleasure to work with. From the first phone call leading up to the birthday performance at my son's 4-year birthday party, Ranger Jack was always professional, responsive, flexible, and engaging. His performance and interaction with both the children and parents were phenomenal and fun. I was concerned that the children might lose interest and focus during the show, but Jack kept them moving and entertained the whole way through. Everyone simply enjoyed the singing and dancing along with the entertainer. I highly recommend and appreciate Ranger Jack.

March 28, 2013Such a wonderfully entertaining show!
We were so pleased and thrilled to have Ranger Jack perform for our library's monthly family story time. Ranger Jack was very professional and showed up well before the performance time to set up his equipment.
During the performance the interaction between Ranger Jack and the children was amazing! The children were so engaged by the music and the interactive songs were appropriate for all ages. Our story time ranges from birth to 6th graders and all of them were having a great time! We are already looking forward to having Ranger Jack back again!

Ranger Jack was such a great entertainer my child’s 6th Birthday. He was very professional and can to set up before the party. Got to know my birthday girl and her interests before guests arrived. He offered a special “ roaming puppets” while everyone was starting to arrive and get settled . And then the show was a great hit. Kids were giggling and music was terrific! Ranger Jack is a such a nice guy and very talented!

September 15, 2020Wonderful all around! Pandemic appropriate! :)
Ranger Jack was wonderful to work with, start to finish! Very responsive, excellent show with fun music, puppets, stories, and movement for my son’s birthday party (ages 1-5). Best of all, we were able to pull this off COVID-compliant! He performed for our small backyard party, 12 feet away, wearing a face shield, with his own PA system. The show was engaging and fun even with these safety adjustments.

What to expect
Animal puppets, musical games, stories and more! The kids will be singing along, dancing and laughing out loud. I specialize in songs about animals. It's mostly a show for kids but all ages have fun as well. And there’s lots of puppetry. At parties I offer even more than this; so please give me a call for a full description.
A bit about me, my day job is teaching/performing music in preschools on a weekly basis; and I have taught private piano as well as music in the Fullerton School District to grades K-3. Kids are just so much fun! And in the last decade I’ve been honored to perform countless preschool summer shows, birthdays, city park events, libraries, shopping malls, and private functions.
Read reviews and check out lots of photos of kids smiling, laughing and dancing as I performed. Please go to (link hidden) to not only learn more but to listen to my free music for all ages.
Thank you!

About
In August of 2012, Jack performed before hundreds of children at the Huntington Beach Library's Concert in the Park in his first appearance as "Ranger Jack." He has since performed countless birthday parties in Southern California, as well as many libraries, shopping malls, K-6 school assemblies, museums, and countless performaces for preschools in Orange and LA County, for that is his day job during the week. He is also a piano teacher in Fullerton and Anaheim. And he has taught music to K-3rd grades in a dozen shools of the Fullerton School District.
"Ranger Jack" began his children's songwriting career in the spring of 2011 after more than 20 years as a music teacher, producer and performer. He had an epiphany after spotting an ad in "Backstage West" magazine soliciting children's music for a New York City music publishing company.
As a child, Ranger Jack was captivated by children's songs such as "Puff the Magic Dragon" as well as music from Disney movies, the film "Oliver!" and the Broadway musicals "Hair" and "Pippin". In addition, he says some of his fondest childhood memories are those of his mother singing him lullabies as he drifted off to sleep. As he got older, RJ grew to love the spirited and often humorous songs of bands like The Monkees, Peter, Paul and Mary and the Beatles - bands that would influence Forest's own musical style.
So it seemed par for the course that children's music came natural to Ranger Jack. He wrote and recorded three songs in answer to the magazine ad and subsequently wrote and recorded a 10-song CD, "Animals are Happy." In the summer of 2011, RJ was commissioned to write instrumental music for the children's DVD reading program "Skip & Daisy," which is sold and marketed to public, private and home schools across the globe.
In January of 2013, Ranger Jack got hired to perform in preschools weekly, and the rest is history. His calendar is filling up fast so contact Ranger Jack now for your next birthday or family event.
Additional booking notes
I usually put on a 30, 45, or 60 minute interactive show, but often I am hired to play serenade music as the guests arrive, like Puff the Magic dragon, what I call "listening songs". Then maybe after I help with the birthday song as we cut the cake, the interactive show begins. All I need is a 5 by 7 foot area to set up my equipment, which mostly includes just my keyboard and guitar. In most cases I will need shade for outdoor shows and I can bring my own portable power supply if an electrical outlet is not handy. So get ready to sing and dance and HAVE FUN!!!

Testimonials
Singer / Songwriter Ranger Jack Forest Reviewed by: Catherine S. C. East Region Children’s Librarian, Anaheim Public Library Review submitted on 10/15/12 at 3:30 pm Mr. Forest gave an impromptu performance for the children and me in the East Anaheim Branch Library on Monday, October 15, 2012, from 2:30-3:15 pm. Mr. Forest is a very friendly and professional performer who willingly asked the kids if they’d be interested in hearing a particular song and what grades they were in. He gave them rhythm instruments to tap along with the songs. His voice was loud and clear enough so the words could be heard easily. The children enjoyed the songs, some of which included audience participation. The kids had fun touching the right parts of their bodies when he sang his Body Parts Song. The East Anaheim and Canyon Hills Branch Libraries will consider hiring him in the future. I consider his act to be polished enough that he could be hired at this time.
