I am a concert pianist and i specialize in American composers of African descent. i also specialize in African-American Women composers of the late 19th and 20th centuries. I perform primarily as a solo pianist but I also perform as a duo with either flute or violin. I am also available for ensemble and concerto work.

Hailed for her distinctive musicality and expressive warmth, American pianist Jacqueline Banks is quickly establishing herself as one of the country's most sought after rising stars for a variety of repertoire specializing works by African American and women composers. Recently, Mrs. Banks was appointed President of Georgia State University's collegiate chapter of Music Teacher National Association (MTNA).
Mrs. Banks' 2008-2009 engagements include recitals in Atlanta, Miami, Washington D.C and New York City. She has performed at such venues as the International Keyboard Institute and Festival, New Orleans Piano Institute and Festival, and annual African American Music Festivals in New Orleans, Lousiana.
Jacqueline Banks has been teaching piano and voice for approximately thirteen years and eight years, respectively. She has held faculty positions at several institutions and nonprofit organizations, and specializes in piano instruction, music history, solfege and the Kodaly Approach to music education. She is also a cintributing writer for Suite 101.
Mrs. Banks holds a Bachelor's of Music degree from Xavier University of Louisiana and is completing graduate studies in piano pedagogy with an emphasis in Kodaly Methodology.
She teaches and resides in Atlanta, with her husband and daughter.
