Ilana Lubitsch Dorfman, Soprano
Ilana Lubitsch Dorfman is a native of Chicago, Illinois. She received her Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music in vocal performance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign under the tutelage of Sylvia Stone and John Wustman.
Ms. Dorfman is an active soloist of recital and concert repertoire. Notable performances include, Mozart’s Exsultate Jubilate, Richard Strauss’s Brentano Lieder, Handel’s Let the Bright Seraphim, Mendelssohn’s Hear My Prayer, Richard Strauss’s Arabella, Leonard Bernstein’s Candide and Schnberg & Boublil’s Les Miserables. She has appeared as a guest artist for the Breckenridge Music Festival in Colorado, University of Illinois Symphony Orchestra, The LeVeck String Quartet and the Zwei-Groschen Oper in Bavaria among others.
No stranger to the stage, Ms. Dorfman has performed numerous operatic and musical theater roles. Highlights include, Konigin der Nacht in Die Zauberflote, Adina in L’Elisir d’amore, Miss Wordsworth in Albert Herring, Madame Lidoine in Dialogues des Carmelites, Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Ado Annie in Oklahoma!, Rizzo in Grease, and Dolly in Hello Dolly. She has competed nationally and abroad and is a Central Regional Finals winner of the Metropolitan Opera Auditions.
Ms. Dorfman has performed sacred and secular repertoire for numerous organizations across the country. She enjoys helping people add the elegance of vocal music to their special events.
