An observational dynamo with deep roots in the absurd, Gideon Hambright is one of the fastest-rising comedians in the Midwest. Peppering jokes with punchlines from start to finish, Gideon’s performances thrill audiences at all venues.
A good-natured class clown while growing up in Eastern Iowa, Gideon is currently lighting up the Des Moines comedy scene and has been received with rave reviews wherever he travels. A three-time finalist in “C4: The Cross Country Comedy Competition,” and winner of the 2012 QC4 Comedy Competition Gideon has also performed with the CornStar Comedy Tour and is a favorite of comedy clubs throughout the Hawkeye State. He seamlessly weaves a set about his family’s odd holidays (“Today is Everybody Loves Mommy Day!”) and is more than happy to delve into the obscure realm of “Laffy Taffy” jokes. There’s something in Gideon’s act for everyone from college-age students to even those beyond the Generation X age.
Gideon was cast and had a speaking role in the 2007 film “The Final Season.” Gideon has been showcased at Penguin’s Comedy Club in Cedar Rapids as well as the Des Moines Funny Bone, while also making the Finals of Stand-Up Showdown in 2011. He also has performed in each of the first two Iowa Comedy Festivals as well as the 2011 Great American Comedy Festival.
