It all began with a song... a homespun " lullaby " if you will. One of my very first memories was of my Daddy singing a song that He had made up for my six sisters and I. It was called " Pretty Brown Girl" I have since penned a children's book after that old song... I remember thinking that my Daddy had one of the loveliest voices that I had ever heard...lucky for me, singing was in my blood. I started singing at the age of three for Family and Friends. Music was always on in our house, whether it was my Daddy's cool Jazz , Mama's soulful Gospel, or my older siblings, groovin' R&B. ( There were Ten of us kids, always singing and dancing ! ) I might add, that my Grandfather lived right next door, and He absolutely loved Country music, so as a result, I've been known to belt out a Dolly Parton or Patsy Cline tune. I started out in the Church Choir, and then on to Chorus and Drama in Middle and High school. I began to train professionally at the age of 12. I started singing and acting as a way to showcase my talent, and found that I enjoyed the spotlight. After winning a few talent shows as well as being featured in several Musicals in college, I knew I had been bitten. My first paid gig was for a friends wedding back in 1998.

Soon after that I was singing as a paid artist generally 2-3 weekends of every month. Making time for a Musical here and there. I never aspired to book so frequently that my voice might suffer. I was more concerned with choosing the right type of gig, one that would allow me to showcase my special vocal style. So, I guess I'm saying, I wanted to provide quality more then quantity. And I still feel that way. I specialize in Classic R&B, Jazz, Classical and Broadway. My favorite standards are songs by Sade, Whitney Houston, Etta James, Roberta Flack, and Aretha Franklin.I also do a Ladies Of Jazz show, that features some of Jazz's greatest female artists, such as Ella Fitzgerald, Nancy Wilson, Anita O Day, Bessie Smith, Nancy Wilson, and Rosemary Cloony, just to name a few. Booking me for your special event means you will always get 200% . Whether it is a themed show or improv, where the audience chooses the songs, you will not be disappointed. I always aim to please.I'm just as comfortable doing a dinner party of 12 as I am a wedding reception of 200. I love to sing and I love to move people with my music. I generally provide a one woman show backed by tracks, but will happily add dancers, other singers, band members per your requirements. Typical Gig Duration: 45 - 60 minutes

Ive often been told that when I sing, the listener is taken back to that era, I aspire to stay as true to the original standard as much as possible, while adding my own personal twist. My audiences are always pleased and as a result im usually able to book addional work from referals . My performance is sophisticated elegance, slightly understated sassines, always a lady, always professional with just the right amount of personal touch to engage the listener.
