Celtic Sounds

Why book Celtic Sounds?

From humble beginnings as a Pub Band in 2001, Celtic Sounds has emerged as a fiery, exciting group performing time honored Irish music and songs and....from time to time adding some Country, Folk, and soft Rock just for fun. Celtic Sounds plays throughout the year at corporate functions, charity events, Pubs, concerts, private parties and festivals.
With an impressive presentation accompanied by guitars, fiddle, mandolin, penny whistles, harmonica, djembe, bodhrans, spoons and bagpipes, Celtic Sounds provides a rollicking good time for all.
CELTIC SOUNDS has produced two CD's with a third released in Mar. 2009.

Great communication with the audience

I would highly recommend Celtic Sounds for your event. They played at my birthday party and my friends really enjoyed them. Comments I heard several times over the course of the evening were, "Who is this band again? How did you find them? They're so good!"

Celtic Sounds

Peter Duffield,a former London "Bobby" and Dan Ryan, a retired NY Probation Officer, met in 1998 when Peter was the Piper at Dan's Wedding. Their friendsh;ip developed and in 2001 they started the band "CELTIC SOUNDS'.
Shortly thereafter they were joined by Marie O'Reilly, a Dublin vocalist, who had played in a pipe band with Peter. A Fiddler joined the band and left about 2 years later.
The band found Derek Gray, a very talented young man who was classically trained on the violin, but loved to play Irish music on fiddle and mandolin. An enthusiastic and inovative musician .
This past year Dan Becker joined the Band. An accomplished, experienced performer, with a background in Jazz,Rock and Folk, Dan adds and engaging guitar and a strong voice.
CELTIC SOUNDS has played throughout Northern Illinois, from Chicago to the Quad Cites and Galena and from Peoria to the Wisconsin border. (We are willing to cross that border even though we are Bears Fans)
