In addition to working on all models & brands of piano's for 32 years, I am Steinway Certified. I am an aural tuner which means I do not use a machine. I tune by ear, starting with a foundation of clean 5ths & a series of intervallic checks. Aural tuning is the standard & preference of Steinway tuners still to this day.
