Alex Grubard
Stand-Up Comedian in Philadelphia, PA
Why hire Alex Grubard?
I am a high-energy, fast-paced, experienced, memorable and funny young stand-up comedian perfect for entertaining students, working Americans, young professionals, foreign tourists, pop culture enthusiasts and comedy fans. My joke writing is sharp and is recognized as being smart while still incredibly appealing to every audience member at the comedy show.
In addition to being able to perform a quality, full comedy show myself I also am connected to numerous comedians through colleges, city comedy scenes, New York City and Los Angelos. If you would like a multi-comic showcase I have the booking skills to provide the right comedians for any show.
Alex Grubard: every show's a riot.
About
Alex Grubard started performing stand-up at 18 while working at New York Comedy Club in 2005. Six years later, after having performed at almost every comedy club, improv theater and bar in all of the five boroughs Alex moved to Philadelphia to major in English at Temple University. In 2011 he performed in the Live Arts & Philly Fringe Festival, F. Harold Festival, City Spotlight, POPPED! Music Festival and First Person Arts Festival. At the start of 2012 he was named one of the Philadelphia Comics to Watch and a Top 10 Philly Comic of 2011. His comedy has been seen on Comedy Central’s “Web Shows,” heard on Sirius/XM’s “Maxim Channel” and read on Campus Philly and the NY Examiner. A lively, quick paced, smart joke writer he is always a riot on stage and a quotable comedian days, weeks and months after his performances. Do you guys get him?

What to Expect
Typical Gig Duration: 10 - 90 minutes
Audiences at my comedy shows leave feeling bright and joyous. They'll have jokes and catchphrases that they will be repeating to themselves and others during even their most basic every day activities that remind them of these lines. They'll also feel as if they have seen a comedian that they respected as opposed to the common misconception people have of comedians today telling old Borscht Belt or airplane jokes they have heard before. It is a fun and engaging experience unlike most entertainment that can be tuned out or is forgettable.
Stage/Setup Requirements:
Microphone
Stage
Additional Notes:
The best shows are simple with enough chairs to seat everyone in attendance, a microphone, microphone stand, spotlight and stage. Stand-up comedy is excellent as it is very low-tech. Even with these requirements I have seen comedians adapt wonderfully to some of the most horrible performance envirnments. The show will go on.
