Zoey’s Solo Violin or Viola
Overview
I am a violist and violinist currently in my fourth year at Juilliard. I have soloed with the Lowell Philharmonic Orchestra, received first prize at the Roman Totenberg Young Musicians’ String Competition and the MMTA Bay State Competition, as well as second prize at the Verao Clássico TalentFest in Lisbon. I have performed on stages across North America, Europe, and Asia, with experience spanning contemporary, pop, jazz, and classical music. I also have connections with some of the greatest musicians around NYC if collaborative projects or gigs are requested.

Zoey played at my daughter’s wedding and it was just such beautiful viola music. She was so kind to customize the music from the ceremony and cocktail party to my daughter’s liking and even came extra early on the day of to allow time for soundcheck. It was incredibly easy to work with her and her music brought tears to my eyes as I watched get married. I highly recommend her for her extraordinary viola talent and professionalism.

About
Zoey Long is a twenty-one-year-old violist from Winchester, Massachusetts. She began her music studies on the violin at age five. At the age of twelve, Zoey switched to viola under the guidance of Dr. Vera Rubin. She also studied with the late Yizhak Schotten at the University of Michigan for two years before enrolling in The Juilliard School, where she currently studies with Professors Samuel Rhodes and Molly Carr.
In the past, Zoey has soloed with the Lowell Philharmonic Orchestra and won first prize at the Roman Totenberg Young Musicians’ String Competition and MMTA Bay State Competition. She was also the 2nd prize winner of the 2025 Verao Clássico TalentFest in Lisbon. She has also toured Europe with the Boston Youth Philharmonic Orchestra and the New England Conservatory Prep orchestra, and was most recently chosen by the University of Michigan’s School of Music, Theater, and Dance to perform “Music from Auschwitz” in Poland and Vienna in 2024. In the summer, she has also attended the Cremona International Music Festival, Center Stage Strings, and National Youth Orchestra of USA.
Zoey is passionate about teaching violin and viola at her studio in the Greater Boston area and aspires to be a viola professor. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, memorizing pi digits, attending dance classes, and traveling to reach her goal of 50 countries before turning 50.
