Overview
I provide the perfect musical backdrop for special events. I play a blend of Jazz, Classical and tasteful Pop tunes to create a beautiful atmosphere for any occasion. I am happy to discuss any special musical needs you may have, ahead of time.
I have played in large venues (The Mayflower, Wolf Trap Education Center, The French Embassy, Bolling Air Force Base, outdoor events, etc.) and small intimate settings (private parties in homes). I am comfortable playing in any setting.
For weddings, it's always best to determine the music you want well before the big day. That way everyone knows what to expect and plan for. If you have any ??? of me, I would be glad to answer them.

Zenon was fabulous. He loved the piano so much. He never took a break, and everybody remarked on how lovely the music was and how it was a perfect compliment to the rest of the party. The venue provided a concert grand Steinway that had just been tuned.

What to expect
Depending on the venue and event, I prefer to setup ahead of time and do a sound check to make sure the audio levels and instrument placement is to everyone's satisfaction. If there are any special requests by the venue, event planner, or wedding party those should be discussed well ahead of time for clarity and assurance about expectations.
About
Zenon has been playing musical instruments since a young child. He excelled at the accordion growing up in Michigan. In addition to the accordion Zenon played the violin and bassoon. While in college he learned how to play the Carillon. He graduated with Honors from the University of Michigan in Music Theory. He moved to Washington, DC and played the Carillon at the National Zoo for many years.
Zenon is also a composer. He has written music for films, radio and theatre. Most notably he co-wrote the music to the John McLaughlin Group political talk shows.
He plays regularly Sunday's at Oakbrook Church in Reston, VA. With his wife Karin, who plays flute and alto sax, they have performed for many weddings in the area. Karin and Zenon are also members of Accidental Red, a jazz band with a female vocalist, bass and drums. They play regularly around the DC area.
Additional booking notes
My requirements are minimal. I can come and play on your piano (if it's in tune) or I can play on my portable setup. I have an amplified electric Yamaha P-155 piano (gorgeous grand piano sound) with stand and bench. When necessary I bring my Roland K-350 amplifier. If Karin joins me on flute (or alto saxophone) she plays into a mic (which I provide). You are welcome to use the mic for announcements. All that we need is an electrical outlet. We can discuss any other venue requirements ahead of the performance.
