Very good band

Heard them at an open house and enjoyed the music selection and sound. The band was not amplified which made for a pleasant listening experience.

What to expect

An enjoyable band for all occasions, Wayward Sun enjoys playing music for a fun-loving, friendly crowd and likes to add to the fun by featuring songs that people love. You can expect a professional group that not only plays songs everyone knows and loves, but also a few favorites you forgot you loved. With new twists on old classics and old twists on new classics, Wayward Sun has something for everyone.

About

A relatively new band, Wayward Sun has been together in various forms since 2023, beginning with Tommy and David throwing tunes around from Tommy's Albuquerque apartment balcony. We noticed his neighbors enjoyed listening and shouting out requests from below, so we thought, why not make it official? We played songs we liked, arranging and re-arranging them until we sounded the way we wanted. About two years later, Bobby, Amy and Hal joined us and gave us even more options and a bigger practice site: Amy's garage, where neighbors still enjoy our music. As long as we're having fun, and people keep wanting to hear it, we'll keep making music.

Additional booking notes

We have our own PA system and guitar amps, allowing us to play plugged in for larger venues, or straight acoustic for smaller spaces. Playing with a full drum kit means we'll need to go electric, but when we play with congas and percussion, we can get by with only (3) mics for our singers. Usually, the band consists of five members, but at times we have a bass on hand or other musicians sitting in. That means the stage should be about 8-10 ft wide and 6-8 ft deep. No special lighting is necessary.
