Overview

JAZZONA is a trio that performs jazz standards, swing, and smooth jazz but can also cover variety music such as classic rock, pop, country and soul. Performances include an NFL Super Bowl event, the Musical Instrument Museum, Chase Field, and Arizona State University (9 times). The group includes Bill Applegate on guitar (masters degree in jazz guitar performance) who has performed at Carnegie Hall & the Grand Ole Opry, Doug Mossing on keys, saxophones and flute, and Elise Hurst on vocals and fiddle who in 2021 won 1st place in an online singing competition judged by Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton. Said Blake to Elise: 'That was the best audition I've ever heard".

I hired Jazzona to perform at a nonprofit senior living event and they were amazing! I have heard NOTHING but positive feedback from everyone there about how great they were and wanting the band back asap!

100th Birthday at Assisted Living Facility

The residents all enjoyed the music and singing by Jazzona. They were up and dancing to the tunes.

Jazzona was wonderful in every way

Doug and Bill showed up early for the event, played beautifully for two hours at our function, had the guests fully engaged , dancing and cheering . Everyone came up up to me to tell me how wonderful they were. Consummate professionals and so very talented. We will definitely book them again for another function.

What to expect

Light background or concert. For background our motto is "IF WE CAN"T HEAR THE AUDIENCE TALKING, WE ARE TOO LOUD".
For dance we can provide danceable jazz standards but we can also cover classic rock, pop, country, line dance, polka, waltz, tango.

About

Jazzona features Elise Hurst on vocals and violin. In 2021 she won an online international singing competition judged by Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton. She is also an actress and comedian.
Leading the band is Bill Applegate on guitar and vocals who has a masters degree in jazz guitar performance from North Texas State. Bill has performed at Carnegie Hall and the Grand Ole Orpy and for Presidents Clinton and Bush (W).
Managing the band is Doug Mossing on keys, saxophones and flute. Bill and Doug also perform as an instrumental duo as they did for an NFL Super Bowl Event and the Musical Instrument Museum (photos included).

JAZZONA also performs in duos in any combination of the above musicians for a reduced rate.
Bill and Doug performs as an instrumental jazz duo ideally suited for background music
Elise and Doug performs show tunes and movie tunes plus variety from the great American song book such as 'Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend', 'Put On A Happy Face', 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow' and 'Pink Panther Theme'.
Bill and Elise performs a variety of music that includes jazz standards, classic rock and country music.

Jazzona has performed at many prestigious venues including annual Shriner's Balls in both Tucson and Phoenix ASU, AZ State Fair, Chase Field and many more.
