About
Tejan A.K.A W∆R (WarChild) came to the U.S in 2000, only 18 yrs old, fleeing the civil war in Sierra Leone, West Africa. Growing up in Sierra Leone, W∆R always dreamed of being an emcee. He began to write his own music when he was 13 yrs old and started doing local performances at the age of 14. After relocating to the U.S, W∆R felt like his dreams of becoming an artist were diminished. Growing up as a child in a town surrounded by war for over 14 yrs, he had seen the worst imaginable happen to people that were so close to him and had tragically been through a lot, so it took him a while to adjust in a new country not knowing the environment or the people. He had to learn to be himself again. W∆R moved from NJ to Lowell, MA in 2002 and started to pursue his music career. He hooked up with a studio called surefire, which he is still part of today and starting making tracks and performing at venues. In 2007, he signed with a label ACM Records, which has helped him move his music along mainstream, social media sites and online music outlets. ACM Records was able to get his song "Stand Tall" pitched in the movie and on the soundtrack of "The Visit".
