Violinist - Lauren Bristow

Lauren Bristow is a violinist, conductor, and teacher from Virginia. She currently serves as a violinist for Follow the River String Quartet as well as Director of Orchestras at Warhill High School in Williamsburg, Virginia. Lauren is available for hire as a gig violinist for solo or group settings.
She holds a bachelor's degree in music education from James Madison University, where she studied violin with Dr. Wanchi Huang and conducting with Foster Beyers and Dr. Yi Ping Chen. As an active teacher, conductor, and violinist, Ms. Bristow has worked with students across the state of Virginia and is a recipient of the Virginia American String Teacher Association’s Outstanding New Orchestra Director Award, Williamsburg Education Foundation Grant, and Delta Kappa Gamma Society Educational Grant. The Warhill Orchestra has received consistent superior ratings at district assessment and has been regularly invited to perform at the Virginia Symphony Showcase and other various community collaborations. She has performed and toured with several American orchestras including the Northern Neck Orchestra, Hampton Roads Philharmonic, James Madison University Symphony, CNU Symphony Orchestra, University of Mary Washington Philharmonic and VCU Medical Orchestras. Notable performances have included: Renee Fleming, Arturo Sandoval, and Henry Winkler. Along with being an active player, she has been a clinician for various orchestral events, including the Williamsburg Youth Orchestra Summer Chamber Music Program, Summer Strings on the James, Spring String Thing, Shenandoah Valley Youth Symphony and Shenandoah Summer Strings. Previous teaching positions include Adjunct Violin Instruction at Eastern Mennonite University and the Harrisonburg City Strings Program.
