Overview
I provide personalized services performing for weddings, birthdays, and events of all kinds! I have performed in Nashville as a commercial musician at the Ryman Auditorium. I received my Bachelor’s from Vanderbilt University and am currently pursuing my master’s at IU’s Jacob’s School of Music. I perform regularly as a substitute with the Nashville Symphony Orchestra.

About
Abigail Harms is a violinist from Nashville, Tennessee. She is currently completing her master’s degree at Indiana under the instruction of Itamar Zorman. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Vanderbilt University under Stephen Miahky where she received additional instruction from Christina McGann and worked as a TA for pre college students. In 2019 she started studying at the Blair Academy pre-college program with Erin Hall where she received the Myra Jackson Blair scholarship and would later graduate with the Blair Academy Certificate of Distinction award. In 2019 she served as concertmaster for the Tennessee Youth Symphony, and in 2020 she qualified for MTSBOA mid-state and all-state orchestra as a section leader. She also served as assistant concertmaster for the Vanderbilt University Orchestra in 2022. Passionate about serving others with music, she has volunteered at nursing homes across the greater Nashville area since 2011. Abigail has attended music festivals where she has studied chamber music with Masumi Rostad, Sarita Kwok, the Brooklyn Rider, Arianna, and Cavani string quartets. She has also received additional instruction from Sibbi Bernhardsson, Paul Kantor, Janet Sung, and Mark Kaplan. Some of the summer festivals she has attended include Credo Music Festival, Madeline Island Chamber Music Festival, the Online Solo String Intensive, ENCORE String Quartet Intensive, Meadowmount School of Music, the Northwestern Solo Violin Institute, and the National Repertory Orchestra. She has performed in masterclasses for Blair Milton, I-Hao Lee, Robert McDuffee, Paul Kantor, Geoffroy Herd, Sarita Kwok, Stella Chen, Peter Salaf, Grigory Kalinovsky, and the Signum, Brooklyn Rider, Catalyst, and Cavani String Quartets. Abigail enjoys performing as a substitute violinist for the Nashville Symphony Orchestra, the Nashville Ballet, and the New World Symphony. She has placed in several competitions including the Austin Peay University Young Artist Competition in 2018, the 2024 Middle Tennessee Sinfonietta Concerto Competition, and as a finalist in the 2024 Nashville Philharmonic Concerto Competition. Most recently, she won contract positions as a section violinist with the Owensboro, Columbus Indiana Philharmonic, and Jackson Symphony Orchestras for the (phone number hidden)6 season
