At Video by Brody, I believe creating great video starts long before the camera turns on, and lasts long after the final file is delivered. My process is personal, collaborative, and built around one goal: to make you feel proud, seen, and confident in your story.

Whether we’re filming your wedding, a brand video, or short-form content for social media, here’s what you can expect when you work with me:

1. 👋 Getting to Know You (Discovery)

Before anything else, we start with a simple conversation. I want to hear your heart behind the project, what you’re envisioning, why it matters to you, and what success looks like from your side of the lens.

I might ask things like:
• “What’s the story you want to tell?”
• “What do you want people to feel when they watch this?”
• “What’s your style: cinematic, raw, documentary, fun?”
• “Where will this video live (social, website, keepsake)?”
This is where I listen deeply and help shape the initial vision into something clear and doable.

We can do this over a quick call, a coffee meeting, or even FaceTime. If you’re local to North Alabama (Athens, Decatur, Madison, Huntsville), we might even meet in person, I’m all about that face-to-face connection.

2. ✏️ Pre-Production (Planning the Shoot)

Once we’re aligned on vision, I’ll guide you through the planning process. Depending on the type of project, this step may include:
• Shot list & storyboarding
• Scripting or interview prep
• Location scouting (or suggestions based on your vibe)
• Scheduling & logistics (we’ll work around sunlight, weather, events, and your availability)
• Creative direction (colors, mood, music style)

Don’t worry if you’re not “creative” or feel unsure about the details, I’ve got you. I’ll walk you through everything and offer suggestions along the way to help shape the story. This is where we build the blueprint that will make shoot day smooth and stress-free.

3. 🎥 Production (Filming Day)

This is where the magic happens.

Whether it’s your big day, a branded shoot, or a behind-the-scenes session for your business, I show up fully prepared, fully focused, and fully committed to capturing the real, authentic, powerful moments.

My filming style is calm, intentional, and low-pressure. I often hear things like:

“I forgot the camera was even there.”
“You made us feel so relaxed.”
“This was actually fun, I didn’t expect that.”

I’ll guide you gently if we’re filming something directed, or I’ll hang back and capture moments as they naturally unfold if we’re documenting a live event. I shoot solo most of the time, but I also bring in trusted second shooters or assistants when needed for multi-camera setups or large-scale shoots.

4. 🧑🏻‍💻 Post-Production (Editing + Refining)

Once filming wraps, I head into the editing room, and this is where everything comes together.

You’ll never get a slapped-together highlight reel from me. I take my time with:
• Footage curation (choosing the best, most meaningful clips)
• Music selection (licensed tracks that match your story’s vibe)
• Sound design & mixing (because audio is half the story)
• Color grading (to give your video that cinematic polish)
• Pacing & rhythm (your video should feel right)
• Text overlays, titles, or graphics (if needed)

Every frame matters. Every beat of music, every line of dialogue, every facial expression—it all plays a role in telling your story in a way that moves people.

If your package includes revisions, you’ll get a review link where you can leave time-stamped comments, so we can tweak anything that doesn’t feel quite right.

5. 📦 Delivery (Sharing Your Story)

When it’s ready, I’ll deliver your final video(s) via a private, downloadable online link or gallery. You can view, download, and share your video on:
• Social media platforms
• Websites or email campaigns
• Wedding sites like Zola or The Knot
• Dropbox, Google Drive, or external storage
• Or just save it to watch on repeat with loved ones (because trust me—you’ll want to)

Depending on your project, I may also include shorter versions, teaser edits, vertical clips for Instagram/TikTok, or a curated highlight reel.
