Versatile Pro Drummer. Rock to Theater

I love to rock out when applicable. I do like to interact with the audience. I am kind of a ham and enjoy the spotlight when allowed. I play to entertain. Period. I entertain by giving 110% to any project. I have a larger than normal electric kit where I can modify sound-sets per song if required. I also have a unique all-Roto-Tom drum set that stands out from the rest.

Simon Kaltgrad – Professional Drummer

Simon Kaltgrad is a seasoned drummer with a dynamic career spanning multiple genres, from hard rock and metal to theater and studio work. With a deep-rooted passion for rhythm, he has been an integral part of numerous bands, live performances, and recording projects.

Starting as the Drum Captain in his high school marching band, Simon honed his skills across all percussion instruments before joining the Burbank Youth Band as a snare drummer. His journey continued with Jendell, an ‘80s hard rock band that took the stage at legendary venues like The Troubadour, Whisky a Go Go, and The Roxy.

Simon has played with Evil Hippies, a satirical metal band, as well as Page 3, Bad Music, and Citizens of the Human Race, performing at notable venues such as Paladinos, House of Blues, The Viper Room, and San Manuel Casino’s Rock & Brews. His versatility extends beyond rock, as he has contributed to musical theater as a bassist and worked as a session drummer on countless recordings.

His talent caught the attention of Dale Bozzio, who invited him to drum for Missing Persons, though the collaboration did not come to fruition. Simon has also been a key performer for the Viva-oy-Vegas shows at the Jewish Community Center in Nevada, playing in both 2023 and 2024.

Currently, Simon continues to write, record, and perform as both a drummer and songwriter, bringing energy and precision to every project he touches.
