New Orleans native, John Cannizzaro has been performing live for over 20 years throughout the world. As an innovative, folk-roots, artist and songwriter, John has brought an approachability to his music that has been warmly received by an array of different cultures, and ages.
From his roots in New Orleans, John moved to Honolulu, Hawaii after Hurricane Katrina, in 2005. John has been a regular fixture in the local music scene, frequently seen performing at clubs and other venues in Chinatown, Waikiki, and other areas of Hawaii. As a regular on cruise ships, John has performed as a soloist, and arranged themed and holiday shows frequently backed by the ships bands.
As a solo performer, John’s powerful vocal styles and guitar melodies win the hearts of crowds, through a very real purity, and an undeniable honest quality in the music. As a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, John has frequently been in Bangkok, Thailand, New Orleans and several other cities internationally, performing and recording.
Working with some of Honolulu’s most accomplished concert promoters and musicians, backed by a multi Grammy winning band from (phone number hidden)5, headlined one of Oahu’s largest music festivals. These events are enormously successful, and have been an annual event for the act.
In 2020 things came to a standstill, and basically shut down. After coming home to New Orleans in 2021, John began performing again, and in some of the city’s best known venues, such as Carrolton Station. Performing under the name “Jawn”, John will be touring the Rockies as “Buffalo”, Summer 2022, you can look forward to performances in Montana, Wyoming, and other western areas, and in the fall New Orleans, before heading to Asia.
