Born January 20, 1993 in Monroe, Louisiana and raised in Lithonia, Georgia. Truth was always a well-rounded child growing up and loved to stay active. When Truth was in 5th grade she started playing Basketball for her elementary school team and started concert band. Originally, she started band to skip her first period class and ended up enjoying the class. She tried out for percussion section (drumline, Xylophone, Cymbals, etc). She decided to continue both her musical and athletic paths throughout her middle school years. During her time growing up from childhood to high school she kept with band and basketball but she also branched out to playing soccer, softball, and ran track. When she got in high school she was face with one of the hardest choices of her early life.
When Truth was in high school, her school was known for both their athletic and music departments Statewide and Nationally. She faced the decision to either stay in the music program or basketball team. After a hard decision, she stayed in the music program. She was not only in Symphonic/Wind Ensemble but also in Marching Band. Her senior year she became her drumline's section leader.
While Truth was in high school she met a band member named Andre that was producing beats at the time. Truth was known by her friends and others in her school that she freestyled little songs to make her friends laugh. He approached Truth and asked her if she wanted to listen to his beats and possibly record a song to it since he had a mic. Truth said yes and from then, she fell in love with recording music and writing songs.
Truth grew up listening to all her favorite artist from Hip-Hop/Rap to Slow Jams/R&B. When Truth first started recording a few cover songs in high school she was still doing it for her friends to enjoy and their entertainment. It was when she started college that she fully launched her music dreams.
Throughout Truth’s music journey, she has been blessed with a opportunities that has helped build her career thus far. Truth released her first official project entitled “The Road Alone: A Hip-Hop Love Story” on Spinrilla. While on this journey she met a Nerves DJ that she built a relationship with after winning a blog contest (Mean Culture) and ended up Hosting the project. Truth won Mean Culture’s Blog contest from the mixtape Single “Love Drug: Ruby”. After the contest, Truth & DJ Papito started working on “The Road Alone” mixtape to get the release ready for the fans. The project was finally released on Sinprilla on January 15, 2014.
After the buzz from the project, Truth found another opportunity for growth. In the months April and May of 2014, Truth set out to win a music award. Truth was nominated in 2014 for the 3rd Annual GA Music Awards for ‘Best Female Hip-Hop Artist’. Ever since the experience Truth has been learning more about the industry and been networking. Currently, Truth is building her own empire filled with great music & merchandise
