February 17, 2025Tres Gatos is an amazing Latin Jazz Band. They sounded wonderful and provided the audience with lots of danceable songs. It was hard to sit still. Band members were on time, well prepared, and friendly/professional. We could have listened the to music until the next day at least.

Tres Gatos - an NYC-based fresh Latin Jazz piano trio - has arrived with a newly interpreted, classic Afro-Cuban sound. Groovy percussion, pounding syncopated bass lines, modern and swinging piano, and beautiful lead vocal. The core members are Ittetsu Nasuda (from Japan, piano) along with Ariel Robles (from Puerto Rico, bass) and Ernest Alvarez (from Cuba, percussions and vocal). They explore the rhythms of son montuno, cha cha cha, mambo with contemporary energy. The trio covers authentic Cuban songs, Salsa hits, Latin pop, and hundreds of jazz standards. Since Tres Gatos was founded in 2018, they have been playing at festivals, venues and restaurants as diverse as Hard Rock Cafe, JetBlue terminal at the JFK airport, IBM Poughkeepsie, The Opus Westchester Autograph Collection, Washington Height Jazz Festival, Hilltop Park Alehouse, Mamajuana Cafe, Penny Jo's, Cloak Room Harlem, 181 Cabrini, Victor's Cafe, Kismat, also a number of wedding and birthday receptions!
