Trace Repeat is a funk and soul band from Oakland, CA. We write unique funk arrangements of Top 40 classics from the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s. Our arrangements have infectious grooves, and our high energy live performances always get crowds dancing.
If you are looking for a straight ahead wedding/event cover band, it is possible that we may not be the right band for your event. We don't write straight ahead cover arrangements, so lots of folks don't always immediately know the song we're covering. But if you are looking for a truly unique dance band that your guests will be sure to remember, we've got you covered.

August 4, 2019Trace Repeat really made our wedding special. Members interacted with guests and really for everyone dancing. Their music can not be beat! A great mix of original funk and covers. On top of everything else they were very self sufficient, communicative, and just plain fun! We would not hesitate to book them again.

July 19, 2019Trace Repeat played in my backyard for my 40th birthday party. It was such a good time for everyone. The sounds they produce is catching and everyone gets caught up in the fun vibes they are putting out there. They even had some fun with our backyard props! Great group and would highly recommend them. Can't wait till I get another excuse to invite them over again!

Wesley was professional and courteous in terms managing contract and events related issues. The band was amazing - put on a real great show. Such a talented group with great singers and passion. July 17, 2019Trace Repeat was a big crowd-pleaser at the Corte Madera Summer Concerts on July 7. Interesting originals and unique covers. Highlights were the interplay between vocalists, the horn section, and the overall tightness of the band. Highly recommend for a high energy and high quality show.

Trace Repeat brings a high level of energy and intensity to the stage, built on their ability to write infectious songs and arrange classic Motown Soul and 70s Funk covers with a tasty new twist. At the same time, they are also all dynamically aware musicians that are able to adapt to any room and/or audience, big or small. They can bring the funk and get people moving without being overbearingly loud, in other words.

Trace Repeat is equipped with PA and lighting equipment appropriate for audiences of approximately 100 people maximum. They are also able to supply a designated audio engineer at an additional fee as well.
