Tommysax

After a lot of research, I hired Tommy Sax to perform at a Funeral/Celebration of Life for two days. I chose him after watching many of his Instagram video posts of him performing and was extremely impressed.

I’m so happy I did.

On day one, the viewing, he arrived on time and was completely self-sufficient in setting up, which was helpful because it took strain off the grieving family. He went out of his way to rent extra speakers and microphones as a backup in case the funeral home had any technical issues, and he wore a nice suit as requested.

His playing was outstanding, and it’s obvious that he is talented. Though perfectly understated, he elevated the mood of the viewing.

Guests were moved by his music, many of them staying close to him to enjoy his playing.

At the funeral home, he knew when to adjust the volume of his playing to match the sound levels in the room. He has an ability to fade into the background or take centre stage, and he knows when to navigate between the two.

On day two, meant to be a festive and upbeat occasion and Celebration of Life, he again showed up on time and connected with the DJs at the event, once again taking strain off the organizer and the bereaved family.

One of the major highlights of the event was his ability to improvise alongside the DJs playing popular songs, creating moments that lifted the mood and brought a special energy to the gathering. Many attendees commented afterward on how impressed they were with his performance. His playing left people remembering the deceased as the positive, music-loving DJ that he was. I cannot think of a better way to honour a musical artist. He would have loved it.

Tommy’s demeanour is warm, positive, and professional, with a beautiful smile. You can tell he takes a lot of pride in his profession. If you're looking for a gospel treat, be sure to ask him to play Sovereign God, it's a personal favourite. We would definitely hire Tommy again.
