I'm a highly trained and flexible pianist who responds quickly, arrives early, and can play a wide variety of styles of music, including both classical and popular styles, depending on your needs. I can bring a keyboard to your event if there's no piano available.
BACKGROUND PIANO
Typically light classical, but I can likely include specific genres as requested.
WEDDINGS
About 10-15 of music beforehand has guests arrive. Processional and recessional (walk-down and exit) pieces of your choosing (or I can recommend some nice ones), and a solo in the middle if desired.
FUNERALS
About 10-15 of music beforehand as attendees arrive. Hymns for religious services, and if desired, a selection in the middle of your choosing (or I can supply something appropriate).
Trained at the Royal College of Music, London, Tom is a freelance pianist, organist, and piano teacher based in Cambridge. Over the years he has performanced solo, chamber music concerts, weddings, funerals, and background piano at events and parties.
If you have a piano at your event:
- No particular requirements other than having a piano bench and decent lighting
- If the instrument has not been tuned in the last 6-12 months, I recommend doing that.
If you DO NOT have a piano at your event:
- A power outlet with two sockets
- I would need to arrive about 15 minutes early to set up and do a sound check.
