Overview

Member: Canadian Music Hall of Fame
A one man band that will surprise and delight you – Tim’s use of looping technology makes for a show that you have to hear to believe. Without backing tracks, autotune or samples, Tim sounds like an entire band, all live and ‘on the fly’. Audience members are constantly asking ‘How does he do that?’. You will be amazed what one voice and one guitar can sound like.
A mainstay of the Vancouver music scene, Tim Hewitt has been performing with some of Canada’s best known bands for the past 20 years. His acoustic solo act is lively and entertaining, covering everything from Current Hits to East Coast Celtic to Classics we all love.

Tim was a magnificent addition to our 100 birthday party. Tried to get everyone involved, chatted up the crowd and simply was wonderful. Played hits according to the age group and was on time . Would definitely have home back.

Great entertainer and an even better singer

Tim was wonderful at our our pub. He read the room very well and kept everyone engaged between songs as well. He cooperated with the staff and was always willing to do beyond than what's needed. His songs choice was excellent. Went from Canadian to pop music very smoothly. And most of all he sings really well. We'd love to have him over again.

What to expect

Tim did an AMAZING job at our wedding ceremony and reception. We truly couldn’t be happier. He played music for all age groups and entertained for the whole night. Our guests were shocked that Tim could sound like a full band all on his own. 2 weeks later, guests are still talking about Tim and his “crazy looping pedals”. Between sets, he had prepared and set up the music so he handled every bit of music for the night. Having Tim as the musician for the wedding and ceremony, we were able to unload all of the musical duties and he took care of it all with such ease. From nailing requests, to entertaining some wondering children, Tim is an amazing musician and a great personality to have at the wedding.

About

Member: Canadian Music Hall of Fame

A talented singer and guitarist, Tim has been performing internationally for 25 years. He brings that experience to every event and loves to share his passion for music. Having performed with many of Canada’s greatest music legends, he has an intuitive sense of pacing for any event.

Though best know as a bassist, Timothy B Hewitt has worn many hats in the Vancouver music scene: Vocalist, guitarist, programmer, producer, engineer and mixer.

Beginning by picking up the guitar at age five, Tim moved on to the bass at eight. “I was in a band with too many guitar players, so I wanted the Gene Simmons’ parts.”, Tim recalls. “I loved the way I could make pant legs shake”. No longer the odd man out, Tim became in demand as a player among much older musicians in his home town of Saint John. This led to relocating to Halifax at age 17 and touring the Maritime circuit with some of the top bands of the time, performing both covers and original music. His debut shot at writing and recording an EP with his first touring act Fuze, scored a top 5 single on New Brunswick radio. Soon after, an offer from CBC Fame-Game winners, RazorBoy, found Tim performing in front of crowds of 2000 , at age 19.

Relocating to Vancouver in 1991, Tim quickly established himself on the west-coast. A short stint with local favourites, Nick Danger, turned into an long term association with John Stoltz, at that time a member of Trooper. It wasn’t long until Tim was moved over to join Canadian legends Trooper on many tours across the country in support of their come-back albums, “The Last of the Gypsies” and “Ten”. While enjoying the touring, he also kept active in the up and coming Vancouver music scene, working with the likes of; Damn the Diva, Edgar (Brand New Day), Vancouver Seeds winners WDC and Juno award nominated Rymes with Orange. While working with the former on their ground breaking “Crash”, Tim was part of the conception, writing and production of the album.

Playing on many national in international releases, Tim has recorded with; Lena, WDC, Heartland, Change of Heart, Rymes with Orange, WDC, Prism and many others. Along the way, he has offered his skills producing acts diverse as Sean Ashby (Sarah Mclachlan), Montreal punk legends Genetic Control, and his recently completed project, Oliver. Oliver is co-production with former WDC singer Chad Oliver. The pair has been recognized for their song writing, winning for Vancouver in the ‘Canadian Radio Star Songwriting Competition’ with the song ‘Find My Way’, (coincidentally the pair’s first composition). They were also named in the top three of December 2005 in the VH-1 sponsored ‘Song of the Year’. Their debut album “Every Red Light” , was co-produced, engineered and mixed by Tim.

Tim’s recent projects include; mastering a release for Hey Ocean, Music Producer for the web-series Mm Ci and co-producing while engineering the latest PRiSM album.

Able to tailor entertainment to your event, Tim also offers aditional musicaians: A Duo, with Violinist Ian Cameron. A Trio with percussion and Bodhran – All the way up to the 5 piece THX – The Tim Hewitt Experience!
