What to expect

In a market saturated with digital photographers, only a few have the vision and knowledge to specialize in the traditional craft of film photography; however, I will also shoot digitally if requested. If you're interested in portraits with more pleasing overall color, tonality, and texture contact me. I also offer traditional black and white images that will stand out and rival other photographers that only specialize in digital.

About

Growing up in Japan, Thomas discovered his passion for photography at the age of 8. His career began on a small Navy newspaper, the Seahawk, covering local sports and events. The Seahawk awarded him a letter of appreciation for "Excellent Photography," in 1992. Thomas then embarked on a journey to Seattle in 1994 to attend The Art Institute of Seattle, furthering his artistic and technical skills, receiving his degree in Commercial Photography. Thomas developed an innovative and conceptual style, photographing a wide range of subject matter from the abstract avant-garde, to haunting images of people and nature. His work instills a mood of introspection and self-reflection and possesses a sense of wonder that often is lost after childhood. Thomas prefers to use the medium of film, both color, and B&W, he also shoots digitally.

Thomas is the recipient of multiple awards for his art. His work has been shown in solo and juried shows throughout Seattle, NYC, Miami, Atlanta, Switzerland, and Finland and has been featured in numerous publications nationally & internationally. Thomas continues to exhibit his work all over Seattle.

Preparedness Tips for Headshots Portrait Session
1. Preplan. Choose your favorite outfits and shirts ahead of time, perhaps even a day before. Make sure your shirts are prepressed, de-lint your jackets. If you have simple solid colors to minimal patterned outfits and tops, this would be the most ideal for the session. Bring any styling products, mirrors, and makeup you might need prior to your session. Makeup & Hair Services are also available upon request. I suggest booking with the Hair & Makeup person 1 week prior to booking with the photographer in order for them to coordinate their schedules; please refer to the very bottom of this page.

2. Trust in your photographer. Thomas is great at what he does. Trust in him to bring his own style and creativity into your situation. He has extensive experience and training with lighting, posing, and framing. Although you may feel awkward initially during the session, the important thing to remember is that you can count on Thomas to put you at ease. Your images will come out amazing! Client satisfaction is the single most important goal.

3. Don't sweat the small stuff. Arrive with a positive mindset. I suggest allowing yourself enough time before and after the session. Thomas is very amiable and will work with you to solve any issues. This is the time to feel no pressures. Sit back, relax, and have fun! Thomas will patiently direct you and allow your personality to shine through.
