Thistle and Thorn Highland Dancers

Depending on event requirements, expect 1-3 sets of dancing with a variety of styles, music, and costumes. Sets typically last 10-20 minutes and can include MC services or a provided script with information and history of Highland Dancing upon request. Additional interactive "Learn to Highland Fling" section for ~30 minutes can also be added if desired!

Thistle & Thorn Highland Dancers are a dance company based out of Surrey, BC. We specialize in creative Highland Dance Choreographies to a variety of music designed to engage and entertain audiences. Each dancer comes with a significant history of competing and performing all over the world. We are able to tailor our performance based on individual requirements of the venue and audience such as including more or less traditional highland dancing to bagpipes. With enough notice, we are also able to provide a custom dance to provided music and also dance to a live Irish band or pipes.

We are able to perform on a wide variety of stage sizes and materials. Ideal stage for best performance would be wood or another surface designed for dancing and a large area, although we are able to work with whatever you have available! Compact dance areas and/or poor surfaces such as concrete may require a modified performance for the safety of the dancers.

A sound system and/or band is required. Music can either be sent to organizer in advance, or can be played via Aux or Bluetooth during the event. If live music is being used for the event, we request one rehearsal with the band prior to the event for an optimum performance! A sound system can be provided at an additional cost if required.
