Hailing from Baltimore, Maryland, Kevin Ellis is known for his deep pocket, incredible feel, and well thought placement. He started playing the drums at the age of seven at the Full Gospel True Mission Church under the leadership of Stellar Award Nominee, Professor Wilbur Belton, Jr.

In 1995, Kevin began his musical studies at Baltimore's Frederick Douglass Sr. High School which is an institution with a reputation for grooming professional musicians and recording artists such as Jazz and Nokio of Dru Hill, Chester Thompson (Phil Collins), and Jarod Barnes (Isley Brothers, Dru Hill) to name a few. During Kevin's music careers program at the school, he studied with William Goffigan, and became exposed to various genres of music that would expand his playing technic and rhythmactic styling beyond the gospel foundation that had been laid. He has had the opportunity to test what he learnt at Larry Stewart's Place, a local jazz "hotspot" that frequented legends such as Dennis Chambers, the Grainger Brothers, and bass legend, Vince Loving.

Kevin's professionalism and leadership within the entertainment industry afforded him the opportunity to established, The Ellis Project Band and Show. The band performs an array of music from top 40s to alternative genres at various functions, lounges and clubs throughout the Washington, DC/Maryland/Virginia Philadelphia, Pennsylvania/Nashville, TN area.

Kevin has accepted freelance gigs as a drummer that allowed him to travel nationally and internationally. He's per- formed and shared the stage with many great artists and musicians such as Groove Stu, International Star Marc Evans and Soul Centered, Nelly Echo, (John Mayer), Joe Keyes & The Late Bloomers Band, Russell Simmons (Hip Hop icon), Ray Lewis (Baltimore Ravens), "Super Producer" Kenneth Shelton (Gospel), Chocolate (Soul), Ab Rock, Tye Tribbett, Micheal Henderson and The Kelly Bell Band. He has also collaborated and toured with The United States Navy Entertainment, performing for Troops and Civilians in Italy, Greece, Spain, Cuba, Thailand, Japan. Diego Garcia. Okinawa and Guam.
