Olympian medalist turn Author, Dennis Blake, gain recognition for his athletic performances. He was awarded thirty - nine athletic scholarships. He represented Jamaica at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia. Earlier, Blake had participated in the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. Inspired by his challenging surroundings, where his mom is mute, dad was not around, four family deaths, Olympian and teammate friend shot and kill the mother of his own child and her sister in cold blood, and sleeping on two chairs while pursuing an Olympic dream of winning a medal. He strategically set his goals and staying focus on the goal. He did not allow his circumstances to paralyzed his dreams.

About

Dennis Blake, Authored "An Olympian's Hidden Secrets" was awarded a two-year scholarship to attend Blinn Junior College, in Texas. Having gain recognition for his athletic performances, he was awarded thirty - nine athletic scholarships to attend Universities throughout the United States which includes Alabama A&M University his Alma Mater.

During his Track & Field career at Alabama A&M University, Blake became the recipient of numerous awards and recognition. The nine-time All-American was selected as the “Most Valuable Player” at the SIAC conference championship, by winning the “Abbott Award.”
As a former member of the AAMU track and field program under the tutelage of coach, Walter Tullis, Coach Blake was able to represent his country and the University at the most prestigious and the apex of all sports, the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta Georgia. There he earns his first Olympic medal.

Earlier, Coach Blake had participated in the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. Among his numerous honors are: two-time Olympian and Bronze Medalist; two time World Championship and Silver Medalist; flag bearer at the Pan-American Games.

Dennis Blake accomplishments include: Induction into the Alabama A&M University Athletic Hall of Fame; The City of Huntsville, Alabama Resolution No. 96-791; Resolution of The Madison County Commission. In addition, Dennis also received the praise of the Office of the Prime Minister in Jamaica; Com-sport Limited Jamaica; Aluminum Partners of Jamaica; the International Autograph Club in Australia; the Huntsville Times and the Municipal Offices in the United States.
