Dr. Elizabeth "Dr. E" Carter, Ph.D. is a trailblazing leader, educator, and 7x best-selling author who has dedicated over 25 years to the insurance industry, holding pivotal roles at Allstate, The Hartford, AIG, and Farmers Insurance. As the Vice President of Clinical Strategy Execution & Business Operations in the Enterprise Clinical Organization for Highmark Health in Pittsburgh, PA, Dr. Carter brings a wealth of experience in corporate finance, product management, technology, sales, distribution, and market segments.

Throughout her finance career, Dr. Carter faced the challenge of being one of the few minorities in the room, a circumstance that fueled her personal mission to "Break the Eight." This mission, aimed at increasing the representation of African Americans in leadership positions, inspired her to establish AAPPEAL, LLC in 2016. Dr. E's Absolute Passion for Performance, Engagement, Analytics, and Leadership is the driving force behind AAPPEAL, where she empowers professionals of color to transition from uncertainty and confusion to being seen, heard, and valued in the corporate world.

Dr. E's unique journey, from abandoning her childhood dream of becoming a lawyer to navigating roles in retail management and banking, culminated in her resilience within Corporate Finance. The struggles she faced, often being the only woman of color in the room, have not deterred her; instead, they have energized and encouraged her to be a catalyst for change.

A distinguished Toastmaster and holder of a Ph.D. in Education specializing in training and performance improvement, Dr. Carter is the visionary behind the Elevate Your Value Summit, designed to inspire and provide resources for individuals overcoming past failures and fears. Additionally, she is the driving force behind the anthology, "Letters to My Corporate Sisters," a collaborative effort with ten other corporate women, including Les Brown writing the foreword.

Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. E is deeply engaged in community service, serving as the Treasurer for non-profit boards, including Gwen’s Girls and Silver Eye Photography in Pittsburgh. Her commitment to uplifting and promoting women in corporate is further realized through the creation of the 'Corporate Sisters Network,' fostering connections and advancing the careers of professional women.
