Everyone loved her watercolor drawings and were so excited to get theirs. The process is great for large events because she takes pictures of the guests so they are able to continue walking around while their portraits are being drawn. Live event painting is time sensitive, so here are some things to consider.
Typically, guests will want their portrait with a partner, friend or family member. If it's a wedding they might even want it with the couple. As a result, a 120 guest wedding might only require 60 completed portraits. I can complete 60 portraits in 5 hours. Reach out if you have a larger guest count than that, and I'll reach out to my artist friends and see what we can do. Likewise, if you don't have 5 hours worth of time at the event but would like to ensure each guest receives a portrait that would like one, I bring envelopes for them to self-address and they'll receive their portrait within a week after the event.
As for set up, know that there will be (3) three of us. My daughter and I sketch and paint, while my husband takes the guest photo that we work off of and organizes them for easy guest pick up. The portraits are all put into a plastic sleeve. I can use any size paper, but typically use 4x6" or 5x7", and can add personalization upon request.
I started this business in 2017, but focused on wedding signage. As trends changed over the years art became more and more a much wanted detail, and a more sincere form of personalization. It started with painting watercolor illustrations of cocktails, some venue illustrations, and now live guest portraits. Eventually, I would love to do live wedding painting of ceremonies as well.
One 8' table with 3 chairs is ideal. Also, lighting is essential to being able to paint! If you know we'll be outside, and possibly unlit, just let me know and I'll bring a table lamp!
