The Soloist

Originally from Cameroon, Rene’s musical journey began in primary school and quickly blossomed into a lifelong calling. Largely self-taught, he honed his craft through years of hands-on leadership, serving as singer prefect throughout his secondary education for over five years. His passion for sacred music deepened through his involvement in the youth ministry of the Archdiocese of Bamenda, where he led liturgical planning and music direction for more than eight years.

Rene later became Music Director at the National Polytechnic University Institute in Bamenda, guiding choral ensembles and shaping the university’s musical identity for three years. Now based in the United States, he continues to serve as Music Director in a Catholic parish, blending traditional liturgy with heartfelt expression.

For Rene, music is more than a skill, it is a divine gift. His leadership is rooted in faith, cultural authenticity, and a deep commitment to uplifting worship through song.
