The Skyline Trio

The Skyline Trio is a group of pro musicians in the Northern Utah area. The group consists of former jazz students at Snow College and Utah State University, and a former pro player from Los Angeles. The Trio plays traditional jazz, bop and latin standards, and is available for hire for parties, weddings, or any event where professional jazz music is needed. We also can play many other styles upon request, and can configure our band for your needs, whether it is adding a vocalist, a solo piano, or a bass and piano duo.

Member Bio:

• Pianist Ben Watkins began studying jazz piano at age 16 with Larry Smith. He has played in many USU jazz bands and combos, The Koecher Quartet, & Pops Dance Band.

• Bassist Rich Hansen is former professional from Los Angeles with albums on Retrospect Records and Sundown Records is a former student of well known jazz bassists Jeff Berlin and David Friesen. He has performed with and/or recorded with Journey/Yngwie Malmsteen singer Jeff Scott Soto; members of Yes, Moody Blues, and many more. As a performer, he has opened for acts such as Kansas, Billy Dean, Ricochet, and Eric Paslay

• Drummer Mike Burnham is a Snow College alumnus, and percussion program student of Utah State University.
